The Portal is the antechamber. The partners do not enter here for the deep work; the deep work is held in the houses themselves and convenes only on the days set out under the calendar. What the Portal serves is what cannot wait the convening — the daily ledger, the standing notices, the issuance and revocation of Cycle Keys, the audit of sessions.
The Cycle Key is issued at the start of each cycle by Data Center IV and rotated at the equinoxes. The partners who hold the keys are listed in the working register at Helion House and kept current under the Standard. No key is transferable; no key outlives the cycle for which it was cut. The series of this cycle’s issue is not written to the wire. It is carried by hand into the houses of the presence, printed and placed, a hundred kindnesses at a time; the wire holds only what the wire may hold. The closing four are left with the cohorts, and are not written, even to you.
The receiving audience may attempt entry here. They will not pass. The Portal will record what they tried, and the record will be held at Data Center I, as is the standing practice for refused approaches.
